Kissy Yohana is a Colombian A&R representative and Artivist residing in Barcelona, Spain. She is also the CEO of Roots Entertainment Latin – an artistic visibility platform specialised in cultural management and public relations, seeking to strengthen the musical and cultural scene of the Afro-communities in Colombia and the rest of the Black diaspora. As an A&R representative, she provides artists with the necessary tools and advice for the development and enhancement of their craft.
I met Kissy in April 2022 at La Panafricana (an African bookstore in Barcelona). I immediately recognised her from two Afrobeats shows I attended last year. During the show, Kissy seemed to know all the artists and I sensed she was either a manager or the event organizer. I introduced myself at the bookstore and she was very warm. Lo and Behold, she was an important person in the Afro-community and Black Music scene.
